Overview
What the maker says this product does and where it fits.
Old Light is a free multiplayer strategy game that runs in your browser. You start with one star system in a shared galaxy of hexes and grow it into an empire, one system at a time. There is nothing to install.
The game is slow on purpose. Buildings and fleets take real time, and resources keep coming in while you are away, so a few short sessions a day are enough to keep up.
Every empire's borders are visible ont he galaxy map, but what a rival has built stays hidden until you scout it with a probe. You cant trade resources with other players or send fleets to take their systems. Computer-controlled empires share the galaxy and follow the same rules as human players.
Old Light belongs in the same family of browser strategy games as OGame and Travian. Power in the game is never for sale.
